For Optimization of biological wastewater treatment: NITRITOPP®

NITRITOPP® was specially developed for use in activated sludge, is a purely natural product made from very finely ground volcanic rock and has numerous advantages thanks to its enormously large specific surface:

larger growth area for nitrifiers
increased substrate availability due to binding of NH4+ -ions to the rock particles and therefore increased N-elimination
promotion of an optimal floc structure in terms of shape and size
improved settling and dewatering of the sludge

We use, in addition to our chalk products, NITRITOPP® especially for:
lack of nitrifiers
insufficient floc formation
high ammonium impact loads
turbidity in the effluent

NITRITOPP® is dosed directly into the nitrification zone, usually once a week.
